On October 19th, the final of the "First Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle International Chinese Education Competition," jointly organized by the Chongqing Municipal Education Commission and the Sichuan Provincial Department of Education, was held at Chongqing Normal University. Thirty Chinese students and 30 international students from universities in Chongqing and Sichuan competed fiercely. Jiang Xingliu and Yang Meilin, international students from our university's class of 2022, won the first and third prizes respectively under the careful guidance of their two instructors, Wu Yuxi and Tang Jing.

In this final competition, the international student group had two segments: a knowledge quiz and a display of Chinese talents. "What does 'Pu'er' refer to?" "Which Chinese character creation method is used for the character '卡'?" "How was the Flaming Mountain in 'Journey to the West' formed?" "Which two characters' love story is described in 'In heaven, may we be birds flying wing to wing; on earth, may we be branches growing together'..." These were some of the questions in the knowledge quiz segment, testing the contestants' knowledge of the Chinese language and Chinese cultural literacy, with a wide range of topics and high difficulty. In the second segment, the contestants took turns to showcase their best Chinese talents. Jiang Xingliu's dance performance of "Jianjia" was almost at a professional level, captivating the audience on site.

This competition has sparked international students' interest and enthusiasm for learning Chinese, enhanced their Chinese cultural literacy and skills, and strengthened the dissemination effect of excellent traditional Chinese culture among the international student community.
