To enhance international students' understanding of China's diverse cultures and to inject new vitality into the inheritance and development of Yi culture, on May 22, 2024, international students participated in a Yi culture experience activity in the calligraphy and painting club activity room of our school. Yi teachers from the school used a PPT presentation to explain the three primary colors of Yi culture in a simple and understandable way, which led to an exploration of Yi ethnic culture. The international students observed and felt the Yi culture through the clothing of Yi students, touched Yi lacquerware, and finally painted Yi patterns on canvas bags, gaining a deeper and more concrete understanding of the connotations and charm of Yi culture.
During the experience of Yi culture, the international students expressed that this experience had given them a deeper understanding of China's multiculturalism. They felt the unique charm and profound heritage of Yi culture.
This activity not only enhanced the international students' understanding of Chinese culture but also brought new opportunities for the inheritance and development of Yi culture. It provided international students with a window to understand the culture of Chinese ethnic minorities, allowing them to more deeply experience the profoundness and diversity of Chinese culture. This has a positive role in promoting international cultural exchanges and enhancing friendship between China and other countries.
