To thoroughly implement the decisions and plans of the State Council, the provincial government, and the municipal government, and to vigorously promote the vocational skills improvement initiative in Leshan, the opening ceremony of the first vocational skills training class for college students in Leshan in 2025 was held in the auditorium of Leshan Vocational and Technical College on the afternoon of April 9th.

In attendance were Zhou Qin, a member of the school's Party Committee and vice president; Shuai Jing, deputy director of the Leshan Employment and Entrepreneurship Promotion Center; Zou Juan, head of the Education and Training Department; Ren Juan, deputy director of the Human Resources and Social Security Bureau of Wutongqiao District; and Chen Ke, deputy director of the Employment and Entrepreneurship Promotion Center of Wutongqiao District. Also present were leaders, staff, and teacher representatives from the School of Continuing Education and related secondary colleges, as well as more than 640 trainees.

Zhou Qin delivered a speech, expressing sincere gratitude to the Leshan Human Resources and Social Security Bureau and other units that have strongly supported this training, as well as to all the staff who have worked hard on the teaching and management of the training class. She extended a warm welcome to the new trainees. She pointed out that this vocational skills training is an important measure for the school to implement the national vocational education reform implementation plan and deepen the integration of industry and education as well as school-enterprise cooperation. She hoped that the trainees would cherish the opportunity to learn, promote the spirit of craftsmanship, and improve their professional skills and vocational literacy in order to prepare for high-quality employment and to serve local industrial development.

Shuai Jing spoke and announced the start of the training class. He said that vocational skills training for college students is an important means to enhance the comprehensive quality and employment ability of college students, to promote the seamless connection between skills training and employment, and to serve local economic and social development. The Leshan Employment and Entrepreneurship Promotion Center will continue to strengthen cooperation with universities to jointly explore more effective models for improving vocational abilities and employment service mechanisms, to safeguard the growth and success of young students, and to better serve local economic and social development.

At the opening ceremony, Hu Fu, a teacher representative, and Hu Jing, a student representative, made speeches. Hu Fu, on behalf of the instructors, promised to maintain strict standards during the training to ensure quality, improve effectiveness, and provide comprehensive management and services throughout the process. Hu Jing said that she would make full use of this training opportunity to think actively, ask questions proactively, and work together with fellow trainees to improve her own quality and abilities.

This training class is co-hosted by the Human Resources and Social Security Bureau of Wutongqiao District and Leshan Vocational and Technical College, aiming to enhance the vocational skills of college students in Leshan and promote their employment. The training class offers five trades—e-commerce specialist, electrician, fitter, CNC lathe operator, and health masseur—in 11 classes, attracting 640 trainees. In the future, the trainees will improve their vocational skills through systematic study and practice, injecting new vitality into the industrial development of Leshan.
