On the afternoon of May 19, 2017, the graduation ceremony for the 2017 class of Thai international students was held in the conference room on the sixth floor of the college. In attendance were Secretary Jian Lu of the college’s Party Committee, President Liu Zhong, and Deputy Party Secretary and Discipline Inspection Commission Secretary Chen Zhihai. Everyone gathered joyfully to celebrate the students’ successful completion of their studies and their return to their home country.
Secretary Jian Lu, on behalf of all the faculty and students of the college, extended congratulations to the eight graduating Thai international students and expressed gratitude to the teachers and administrators who had nurtured them. He noted that a year earlier, the students, driven by their admiration for ancient Chinese culture and their desire to foster friendship, had come to China, to Leshan, and to the college from Thailand, adding a beautiful and colorful dimension to the campus life. He hoped that after returning to their home country, the students would maintain contact with their alma mater and share the recent achievements and developments of China and Leshan with those around them, becoming friendly ambassadors of Chinese culture and contributing to the strengthening of Sino-Thai friendly exchanges.
Subsequently, President Liu Zhong presented the graduation certificates to the students.
At the ceremony, the college screened a short film documenting the Thai students’ learning and life experiences at the college over the past year. Speeches were made by Yang Qing, a representative of the teaching staff, and Minuo, a representative of the international students. Finally, in accordance with Thai custom, the eight Thai students presented flowers to the college leaders and teachers to express their gratitude.
Also attending the ceremony were members of the International Cooperation Office, the International Student Management Office, and relevant leaders from the departments where the international students were enrolled.
