On November 18th, 2015, the Thai Ministry of Tourism and Sports held a commendation ceremony for volunteers of the August 17th Bangkok explosion at The Twin Towers Hotel in Bangkok. Three exchange students from our college, who were studying at the Thai Red Cross Nursing College, were honored at the event. During the ceremony, Thai Minister of Tourism and Sports Kobkarn Sakulrat addressed the gathering, outlining the Thai government’s response following the explosion. She expressed her gratitude to all volunteers for their assistance to the Thai government and the foreign tourists injured in the blast, and personally presented commendation certificates to our college students.
Our college’s exchange students at the Thai Red Cross Nursing College—Zhou Jie, Lei Qi, and Chen Linhui—were among the first to join the relief efforts immediately after the explosion. Leveraging their nursing knowledge and language skills, they performed exceptionally well in assisting the injured. Their actions fully embodied the spirit of Florence Nightingale, showcased the positive image of our college’s students, and contributed to strengthening the friendship between China and Thailand.
