The Mid-Autumn Festival, with its full moon symbolizing family reunions, is also known as the "Festival of Reunion." International students from Thailand and Laos, having traveled thousands of miles from their home countries, have come to the Nursing Department of our college. Here, they study and live alongside our students, forging beautiful bonds of friendship between China and Laos, and China and Thailand, creating lasting connections.
On the night of the Mid-Autumn Festival, students from Class 14-1 of the International Nursing Program and Class 15-5 of the Maternal and Child Health Nursing Program joined the international students in a celebration. Together, they celebrated the festival, shared stories of friendship, enjoyed each other's company, and welcomed the spirit of togetherness.
The evening's activities began amidst laughter and joy. During the event, students performed in groups based on their dormitories. Some sang "Shui Diao Ge Tou" together, others performed the sign language version of "Grateful Heart," and there were also entertaining skits. The students also played games such as charades and "pass the flower while the drum beats," with many funny moments that had everyone in stitches. The international students eagerly took photos with their phones to capture and share these memorable moments.
During festivals, homesickness often intensifies. On this day of family reunions, the international students and local students exchanged stories, strengthened their friendships, supported each other, and moved forward together. The class party on this Mid-Autumn night made the Thai and Laotian students, who are far from home and studying abroad, feel the warmth of a family. They also experienced the warmth of the Chinese community, the sincerity of the school, and the passion of the teachers and students.
Here, we extend our best wishes to the international students for a happy Mid-Autumn Festival and success in their studies!
