On the morning of September 4th, five international students from Laos representing Leshan Vocational and Technical College participated in the "7th China-ASEAN Education Exchange Week ASEAN International Students Chinese Character Dictation Competition" held at Zunyi Normal College in Guizhou. Our college achieved an outstanding result in the team competition, winning the second prize, while international student Li Baohua won the third prize individually.

A total of 10 universities participated in this competition, including Hubei University, Guizhou University, Guizhou Minzu University, and Zunyi Normal College. After four hours of preliminary, semi-final, and final rounds, the competition awarded two first prizes, three second prizes, and five third prizes for the team category; and one first prize, two second prizes, and two third prizes for the individual category. Among the participants, our college had the smallest number of international students. However, with a spirit of daring to take risks and striving for success, our students ultimately won the second prize in the team category and the third prize individually, which were the highest awards received by any vocational college participating in this competition.

Through this competition, we hope that more international students will appreciate the beauty of Chinese characters, have a platform to showcase their diligent learning achievements, expand their knowledge base, enhance their interest in Chinese culture, and lay the foundation for promoting exchanges between China and ASEAN countries.
