To help international students understand traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) culture and experience the charm of Tai Chi, on March 27, 2024, the Sports Department of the Student Union of the College of TCM Health and Wellness, the International Students' Union, and the Traditional Medicine Club jointly organized an event titled "Tai Chi for Fitness." A total of 50 students from the College of TCM Health and Wellness and 10 international student representatives from Laos, Indonesia, and other countries participated in the event.
Led by members of the Traditional Medicine Club, the international students actively engaged in experiencing the charm of Tai Chi. During the process, they explored the changes of Yin and Yang, the Five Elements, TCM meridian theory, and the ancient practices of Daoyin and Tu Na, which together form Baduanjin—a traditional Chinese exercise that integrates internal and external cultivation, characterized by its gentleness, slowness, lightness, and the harmony of softness and strength.
Since the spring semester of 2024, the International Students' Union has been organizing professional cultural experience activities for international students through various specialized clubs. These activities aim to enhance international students' understanding of their fields of study, allow them to experience the culture of different disciplines, and deepen the exchanges and friendships between Chinese and international students.
