Princess Sirindhorn Visits Leshan Vocational and Technical College

In the afternoon of April 8, 2018, Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn of Thailand visited our college. "I have come specially to express my gratitude to you all," she said when greeting the college's staff.


Princess Sirindhorn had in - depth exchanges with nine Thai students studying at the college and encouraged them to study hard. As the head of the Thai Red Cross and the Red Cross Nursing College, she paid special attention to the nursing students, saying, "Our cooperation has been very fruitful." She noted that Thai students in China not only gain solid knowledge but also develop patience and diligence. Many of them continue to work hard after returning to Thailand and achieve good results and significant progress. "On this occasion, I hope both sides can exchange views in - depth and further strengthen cooperation, enabling more Thai students to study here," she said.


Besides nursing, Princess Sirindhorn was also interested in cooking skills. Seeing the Sichuan and Thai dishes made by students in the cooking major, she was very pleased. She said that the teachers sent to Thailand for exchanges by the college "cook delicious Sichuan food and also make authentic Thai dishes after learning them in Thailand." She said that the Thai side is preparing to send cooking teachers to the college to learn the essence of Sichuan cuisine and promote more exchanges and cooperation between the two sides through food.


Princess Sirindhorn visited the professional booths of various departments of the college and, through a remote video system, watched the teaching and training sites of the school's nursing, cooking, new energy, automotive repair, and pharmaceutical majors. She expressed her gratitude for the teachers' dedication.


Jian Lu, Secretary of the College Party Committee, warmly welcomed Princess Sirindhorn on behalf of the college and introduced the cooperation between the college and several Thai friendly universities, including the Queen Mother Nursing College in Suphanburi, Thailand, the Royal Jiradit School, and the Thai Red Cross Nursing College. Jian Lu said that as an old friend of the Chinese people and a distinguished envoy of Sino - Thai friendship, Princess Sirindhorn's visit has injected new momentum and confidence into the cooperation between the college and Thai universities. The college will further expand and promote cooperation with Thai universities to jointly cultivate more international talents who can integrate Sino - Thai economic and cultural exchanges and make greater contributions to promoting educational exchanges and developing people - to - people friendship between the two countries.


Liu Zhong, President of the College, introduced the college's history, major settings, international cooperation, and international student education work. He said that since 2009, the college has signed intercollegiate cooperation agreements with 13 Thai institutions, sent more than 80 teachers and students to Thailand for exchanges, and received 69 one - year Thai international students, achieving fruitful cooperation results.


To warmly welcome Princess Sirindhorn's visit to the college, Chen Ruixiang and Liu Hai, who studied and exchanged Sino - Thai catering culture in Thailand in 2012 and were personally received by Princess Sirindhorn, specially prepared several dishes with Sichuan and Thai flavors for her at the banquet.
