​Our College Discusses a Health and Elderly Care Talent Cultivation Cooperation Project with the Tokunaga Medical and Welfare Group of Japan

On the morning of June 13, Mr. Tokunaga Tokuyoshi, representative of the Tokunaga Medical and Welfare Group of Japan, and Mr. Zhang Jun, General Manager of the Japan branch of China International Technical Intelligence Cooperation Corporation, along with four other colleagues, visited our college. In the conference room on the third floor of the college, the meeting was attended by Secretary Jian Lu of the college’s Party Committee, Vice President Tang Liu Hong, heads and relevant staff members of the International Affairs Office, Academic Affairs Office, Nursing Department, and Haitian Company. The meeting was chaired by Vice President Tang Liu Hong.


During the meeting, Mr. Tokunaga Tokuyoshi introduced the recent development of the Tokunaga Medical and Welfare Group and the future development plan of the Japan Medical University. General Manager Zhang Jun provided an overview of the latest changes in Japan's caregiving policies. The Japanese delegation highly praised the professional capabilities and comprehensive quality of the students from our college’s Nursing Department and warmly congratulated the eight students who successfully passed the interview for the paid internship and training program in Japan.


Secretary Jian Lu reviewed the friendly exchanges and interactions between our college, the Japan branch of China International Technical Intelligence Cooperation Corporation, and the Tokunaga Medical and Welfare Group and Japan Medical University over the past two years. Jian Lu noted that the successful interview passage of eight nursing students from our college for the paid internship cooperation project in Japan is a positive outcome of the joint efforts made by all parties in the early stage. This marks the first step of substantive cooperation between the two sides. Moving forward, it is hoped that all cooperating parties will leverage their respective strengths, expand the scope of cooperation, and focus on effective collaboration in areas such as joint education programs in health and elderly care, customized training, student exchanges, and faculty exchanges. Together, we aim to enhance the capacity and level of health and elderly care talent cultivation in both China and Japan and contribute to the elderly care and health care cause of the two countries. Mr. Tokunaga Tokuyoshi expressed a high degree of consensus on the cooperation and agreed to conduct detailed对接and promotion of the above-mentioned cooperation content, striving to achieve more fruitful results in the cooperation projects related to health and elderly care talents.


Established in 1983, the Tokunaga Medical and Welfare Group has 69 office locations related to health and elderly care in Rihō, Tokyo, and Sendai. It ranks fifth among more than 22,000 elderly care groups in Japan and has extensive experience in elderly care and caregiving. The Japan Medical University, established by the group in 2014, specializes in cultivating undergraduate talents related to caregiving majors.
