Hong Kong Study Tour Diary (Part I)
Under the meticulous planning of Leshan Vocational and Technical College and Changjiang Vocational College, the XF1705 group officially embarked on their exchange study tour to Hong Kong on March 7, 2017. At 13:00 in the afternoon, the students arrived at their accommodation in Hong Kong—Changjiang Home, where they were warmly welcomed by the local teachers. Teacher Lam led the group to experience the local customs and culture of Hong Kong. The students visited Central, Lan Kwai Fong, and IFC to gain insights into Hong Kong's economy, history, and culture. After dinner, the students went to the Tsim Sha Tsui Pier to take a ferry to Victoria Harbour. Teacher Han provided a detailed explanation of Hong Kong's historical and cultural background. In the evening, the students watched the unique laser show at Victoria Harbour, enjoying the world-famous Hong Kong night view. They then took a night tour of the Tsim Sha Tsui commercial area, familiarizing themselves with the exits of Tsim Sha Tsui MTR Station. They returned to Changjiang Home via Hollywood Road. The day passed quickly, with the students showing great excitement and a desire to learn more about Hong Kong, constantly updating their impressions of the city.
Hong Kong Study Tour Diary (Part II)
On the second day of the Hong Kong tour, at 8:50 a.m., the students took a bus to the iconic Victoria Peak. Under the guidance of the group leader and safety committee members, they overlooked the panoramic view of Hong Kong, which made them exclaim in amazement: Hong Kong, a city built on such a small piece of land, is an economically developed international metropolis. The students couldn't help but feel deep admiration for the diligence and hard work of the people of Hong Kong. They then visited the affluent area of Repulse Bay, where they were granted an hour for sightseeing with the teachers' approval. After lunch, the students arrived at the University of Hong Kong. Teacher Han carefully introduced the university's historical culture and humanistic charm, captivating the students' attention. After taking a group photo, the students rode and experienced the old-fashioned tram. In such a fast-paced city, time seemed to slow down on the tram. Looking back, the streets were filled with old Hong Kong scenery, as if they had stepped into a scene from an old Hong Kong movie. It is a reflection of the coexistence of old and new cultures in Hong Kong that an international metropolis still preserves industrial relics from the last century. The tram stopped, and the students arrived at the "Golden Bauhinia Square," where the Hong Kong handover ceremony took place. They quietly gazed at the "blooming bauhinia flower" (a gift from the Central People's Government to the Hong Kong government upon its return to the motherland), as if transported back to twenty years ago, with the scene of Hong Kong's return vividly before their eyes, marking Hong Kong's return to the embrace of the motherland. The second day of the exchange study tour in Hong Kong came to an end. Although the students were tired, they felt a sense of sweetness in their hearts and remained excited long after returning to their dormitories, unable to fall asleep.
Hong Kong—good night.
