On February 18th, 2014, the Provincial Director of Education, Bounkong Luanglasy, and the Provincial Director of Foreign Affairs, Kongphet Thongyo, from Luang Namtha, Laos, along with the Director of the Education Office of Luang Namtha Province, Thongchanh Aphachanh, visited our college. They were accompanied by Mr. Liao Fei, Deputy Director of the Office International Cooperation and Exchange at Leshan Normal University. Attending the meeting were Dean Xue Jianping, Deputy Secretary of the College Party Committee Chen Zhihai, Director of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange Huang Xiaoli, and leaders from relevant departments and faculties.
During the meeting, Dean Xue extended a warm welcome to the distinguished guests and highly praised the studies and lives of the Laotian students at our college. Since the enrollment of the first group of Laotian students three years ago, the number of Laotian students at our college has reached 28. The first batch of Laotian students has fully adapted to the study and life in China and has entered the internship phase. The presence of Laotian students at our college has added a beautiful dimension to our campus, making a significant contribution to the cultural life and campus construction of our students. Dean Xue also painted a promising picture of future cooperation between the two sides.
The Provincial Director of Education, Bounkong Luanglasy, and the Provincial Director of Foreign Affairs, Kongphet Thongyo, expressed their views on Dean Xue’s speech. They acknowledged that Leshan Vocational and Technical College, as an old friend of Luang Namtha Province, has provided great care and support in enrolling international students. They expressed their gratitude for all that the college has done for the international students and hoped that through future cooperation, the friendship between the two sides would reach a new level.
During the meeting, Laotian student Vanna Vong also shared her experiences of studying and living at our college in Lao language with her fellow countrymen and engaged in a free exchange with the guests.
