College Attends the 60th Anniversary of China-Laos Diplomatic Relations and the 2021 China-ASEAN Education Exchange Week Vocational Education Forum

The 60th Anniversary of China-Laos Diplomatic Relations and the 2021 China-ASEAN Education Exchange Week Vocational Education Forum was held in Tongren, Guizhou. Hundreds of leaders, experts, and scholars from China and abroad attended the event both online and offline. Chen Xiaolu, Director of the Academic Affairs Office of Leshan Vocational and Technical College, Deputy Director Deng Panpan, deputy directors of various departments, and relevant staff members participated in the online meeting.

This year marks the 60th anniversary of China-Laos diplomatic relations and the China-Laos Friendship Year, the 30th anniversary of the establishment of dialogue relations between China and ASEAN, and the 13th anniversary of the China-ASEAN Education Exchange Week. The forum is not only a reflection of the achievements made in China-ASEAN educational exchanges over the past 13 years but also aligns with expectations for future development. It is a concrete manifestation of serving the Belt and Road Initiative, a necessity for promoting high-quality development at Leshan Vocational and Technical College, and an important opportunity to further build consensus and advance cooperation.

The forum was jointly organized by the Guizhou Provincial Foreign Affairs Office, the Lao People's Democratic Republic Consulate General in Changsha, and the Secretariat of the China-ASEAN Education Exchange Week Organizing Committee, with the theme "Building the Belt and Road Together and Innovating Vocational Education Development." It focused on friendly cooperation and exchanges between China and Laos, and explored integrated and interactive development among China and ASEAN countries, as well as educational exchanges and cooperation, fully implementing the national Belt and Road Initiative.

Participants in the event, both online and offline, included Yu Yougen, Deputy Secretary-General of the China Education Association for International Exchange; Camboun Entavong, Lao Ambassador to China; Saykham Phanthavong, Deputy Director-General of the Lao Ministry of Education and Sports; Wang Hui, Member of the Party Leadership Group of the Guizhou Provincial Department of Education and Chairman of the Provincial Education Union; Jiang Hong, Member of the Party Leadership Group of the Guizhou Provincial Foreign Affairs Office and Vice President of the Provincial Friendship Association; Yang Yun, Vice Mayor of Tongren Municipal People's Government; and Ben Intabadi, Consul General of the Lao People's Democratic Republic in Changsha. Also in attendance were leaders, experts, and scholars from 45 universities in China, Laos, Malaysia, and Thailand, as well as heads of departments such as the Lao Ministry of Education and Sports, the Federation of Industry and Commerce, and the Lao-China Friendship Association, and representatives from the Secretariat of the China-ASEAN Education Exchange Week Organizing Committee, the Guizhou Provincial Education International Exchange Association, the Tongren Municipal Foreign Affairs Office, and the Tongren Municipal Education Bureau.
