From April 16th to 18th, 2025, the 19th Spring Track and Field Sports Meet of Leshan Vocational and Technical College was successfully held at the school's main sports field. The theme of this year's sports meet was "Setting Sail on the Qingjiang River in the New Era, Cultivating New Talents through Sports for a Stronger Nation." The event was jointly organized by the Student Affairs Department, the School Trade Union, and the School of Physical Education.
On the afternoon of April 16th, the opening ceremony of the sports meet was held, with school leaders Cheng Dingbin, Zhang Jia, Li Changgui, Feng Jiafu, and Zhou Qin in attendance.
At the opening ceremony, representative teams from each secondary college and the administrative staff team marched into the venue in high spirits, led by the national flag, the school flag, and the sports meet flag, and accompanied by the Athletes' March. As each secondary college team passed the presidium, they paused briefly to showcase their unique spirit and characteristics. Following the parade, a solemn national flag-raising ceremony was held, with all teachers and students standing and singing the national anthem.
Subsequently, representatives of the referees, faculty and staff athletes, and student athletes took the oath. Li Changgui, a member of the school's Party Committee and the Discipline Inspection Secretary, delivered a speech. He expressed the hope that the sports meet would further promote the vigorous development of sports activities in the school, improve the physical fitness of all teachers and students, and enable students to strengthen their bodies and become self-reliant and self-improving. He also emphasized the importance of cultivating high-quality talents who are well-rounded in morality, intelligence, physical fitness, aesthetics, and labor. He wished for every student and teacher to develop happily, harmoniously, comprehensively, and healthily within the school. He encouraged all athletes to demonstrate the fine qualities of "unity, friendship, and progress", to carry forward the sports spirit of "higher, faster, stronger", and to strive hard and dare to be pioneers in this sports meet, showing their style and level.
Finally, Cheng Dingbin, the Party Secretary of the school, declared the opening of the 19th Spring Track and Field Sports Meet of Leshan Vocational and Technical College.
The sports meet featured the following events: For the student group (male and female), there were 100 meters, 200 meters, 400 meters, 800 meters, 1500 meters, high jump, long jump, triple jump, shot put (5 kg for men and 4 kg for women), 4×100 meters relay, 4×400 meters relay, and a 20×50 meters shuttle relay (10 men and 10 women). For the faculty and staff group (male and female), there were 100 meters, 200 meters, 800 meters, long jump, and shot put (5 kg for men and 4 kg for women). Additionally, there were team events for the faculty and staff, including tug-of-war (15 people per team) and a 20×30 meters shuttle relay (20 people per team). The competitions were officiated according to the latest "Track and Field Competition Rules" approved by the Chinese Athletics Association. In the student group, the top six performers in each individual event were awarded. There were also six awards for the overall team score, three awards for sportsmanship, and three awards for the best organization and publicity.
After two and a half days of intense competition, the sports meet concluded successfully on the afternoon of the 18th, after completing all the events.
