During the Mid-Autumn Festival, the school hosted a "Mid-Autumn Jia'e Tea Valley Cultural Experience Activity" for international students. The event aimed to allow 120 international students from different countries to deeply understand the charm of traditional Chinese culture and experience the profound cultural connotations and unique atmosphere of the Mid-Autumn Festival.
During the event, Zhang Xuehe and Zhou Qin, members of the school's Party Committee and vice presidents, visited the site to celebrate the festival with the international students and engage in in-depth exchanges. They encouraged the students to participate more in such cultural experience activities to jointly appreciate the charm of Chinese culture and gain a deeper understanding of its essence and spirit.
The event revolved around the theme "Tea Charm in Mid-Autumn, Lots of Fun with Tea." Through a series of carefully designed cultural experience courses, the students were able to perceive the cultural connotations of traditional Chinese festivals in an all-round and multi-angle manner.
Led by their instructors, the students first participated in the "Tracing the Origins of Tea History" course. Through the teachers' explanations and interactions, they gained a deep understanding of the historical origins and development of Chinese tea culture and felt the special place of tea in the hearts of the Chinese people. Subsequently, they visited the tea garden to experience the fun of "Exploring the Tea Garden, Little Tea Farmers." They picked tea leaves with their own hands, experiencing the hard work of tea farmers and the joy of harvest. In the "Tea Charm and Craftsmanship, Little Tea Makers" segment, the students learned about the process of making green tea, including key steps such as fixing, rolling, and drying. They made their own green tea, deeply experiencing the profound Chinese tea culture. The "Fragrant Tea, Little Tea Artists" course allowed the students to learn the brewing techniques of green tea and the etiquette of tea table culture. Amidst the rising tea aroma, they felt the unique charm of Chinese tea culture. In the "Mid-Autumn Lanterns for Longing" segment, the students made Mid-Autumn lanterns and mooncakes with their own hands, feeling the meaning of family reunion and happiness in traditional Chinese festivals.
The event concluded successfully amidst laughter and joy. It provided international students with a platform to perceive and understand Chinese culture, further promoting the exchange and integration of Chinese and foreign cultures. The participants expressed that the cultural experience activity was highly beneficial. It not only increased their knowledge but also deepened their love and admiration for Chinese culture. They look forward to more opportunities to participate in such activities to further explore the profoundness of Chinese culture.
