From September 23 to 24, 2024, Boualoy Ithyphone, Deputy Director of the Luang Prabang Provincial Department of Education and Sports of Laos, along with her delegation, escorted 20 new students from Luang Prabang to Leshan Vocational and Technical College for enrollment and conducted an exchange visit.
Cheng Dingbin, Secretary of the Party Committee of the school, held a cordial meeting with Boualoy Ithyphone. Both sides reviewed the fruitful achievements made in recent years in the exchange of teachers and students and teaching cooperation, and highly praised each other's efforts in promoting educational internationalization and cultural mutual learning. Cheng Dingbin stated that Leshan Vocational and Technical College has always been committed to building an open and inclusive educational environment, and welcomes more outstanding students from Laos to study and further their education here. Together, they can explore the ocean of knowledge and enhance the mutual understanding and friendship between the two peoples.
Boualoy Ithyphone expressed her sincere gratitude for the warm reception and meticulous arrangements by Leshan Vocational and Technical College. She noted that sending students to study here is an important measure by Luang Prabang Province of Laos to improve the quality of education and cultivate international talents. She hopes that these students will cherish their learning opportunities in Leshan, study professional knowledge diligently, experience the profound Chinese culture, and become bridges and envoys of China-Laos friendship.
Zhou Qin, a member of the Party Committee and Vice President of the school, accompanied Boualoy Ithyphone and her delegation to visit the school's industrial robot training factory, cooking training center, and Qingjiang Martial Arts Base, among other teaching and training facilities. At each location, Boualoy Ithyphone listened carefully to the presentations and inquired in detail about the students' learning and living conditions, expressing high admiration for the school's advanced teaching facilities and rich educational resources. At the industrial robot training factory, she encouraged students to actively engage in hands-on practice and master modern industrial technology. At the cooking training center, she tasted Chinese dishes made by the students and praised the Chinese culinary culture highly.
The delegation also visited the school's cafeteria, dormitories, and classrooms to understand the daily living environment of the students. Boualoy Ithyphone particularly instructed the Laotian students to cherish their time at Leshan Vocational and Technical College, strictly abide by school discipline, study hard, actively integrate into campus life, and lay a solid foundation for becoming useful talents in the future.
This visit showcased the achievements of Leshan Vocational and Technical College in internationalized education and opened a new chapter in educational cooperation between China and Laos. Both sides expressed their intention to continue strengthening communication and expanding areas of cooperation to jointly promote the prosperity and development of the educational endeavors of the two countries.
