On February 27, 2023, a delegation led by Ounphet Oudonephithack, Director of the Department of Education and Sports of Luang Prabang Province, Lao People's Democratic Republic, visited Leshan Vocational and Technical College. Ounphet Oudonephithack and his team conducted an on-site inspection of the learning and living environment at Leshan Vocational and Technical College. Both sides held an exchange symposium. Yang Jianguo, a second-level inspector from the Sichuan Provincial Department of Education, attended the symposium. Guo Jie, a member of the Standing Committee of the Leshan Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China and Minister of Publicity, attended the exchange activities and presented souvenirs to the delegation. Chen Yingli, Deputy Director of the Leshan Municipal Bureau of Economic Cooperation and Foreign Affairs, Ma Jie, Deputy Director of the Leshan Municipal Education Bureau, Cheng Dingbin, Secretary of the Party Committee of Leshan Vocational and Technical College, Liu Zhong, President of the college, and other college leaders participated in the symposium, which was chaired by Liu Zhong.

At the meeting, Ounphet Oudonephithack reviewed the history of cooperation and exchange between the Department of Education and Sports of Luang Prabang Province and Leshan Vocational and Technical College. He highly praised the beautiful learning and living environment of the college and expressed hope for expanding the areas of cooperation and further strengthening the exchange and cooperation between the two sides. Yang Jianguo extended a warm welcome to Ounphet Oudonephithack and his delegation, introduced the development of education in Sichuan Province, and reviewed the educational exchange and cooperation between Sichuan Province and Luang Prabang Province. He emphasized that China and Laos share the same mountains and waters, and he hoped to continuously strengthen exchanges and cooperation to jointly promote development.

Cheng Dingbin noted that this year marks the tenth anniversary of the cooperation between the college and the Department of Education and Sports of Luang Prabang Province. He expressed the hope that both sides will further deepen their exchanges and cooperation and make more contributions in areas such as curriculum development, joint education programs, and the establishment of a sister-city university alliance between Leshan and Luang Prabang. Since 2013, Leshan Vocational and Technical College has been engaged in educational exchange and cooperation with the Department of Education and Sports of Luang Prabang Province. It has provided a platform for the establishment of friendly relations between Leshan City and Luang Prabang Province, enrolling a total of 186 international students from the province. Many graduates have been involved in China-Laos economic and cultural exchanges upon returning to their country, building a bridge of friendship between the two nations.
