School Wins Bronze Medal in the 2024 World Vocational College Skills Competition

Time:2024-11-08

From October 28 to 31, the 2024 World Vocational College Skills Competition - the final contest for the higher vocational group in the medical and health track (I) - Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) skills (team event) was held at the Qinghai Health Vocational College. A total of 55 teams from across the country competed in this event. After fierce competition, the team of students Zhu Can, Shui Chuansi, and Wang Yilian, majoring in Traditional Chinese Pharmacy and coached by teachers Zheng Jia and Lan Ying from the School of Biomedical and Pharmaceutical Sciences at Leshan Vocational and Technical College, won the bronze medal.

This year's competition was jointly organized by the Ministry of Education, the National Development and Reform Commission, and 33 other ministries and commissions. This year also marks the first year that the National Vocational College Skills Competition has been fully upgraded to the World Vocational College Skills Competition. The competition adopted a new format, themed "Skills Shine Youth, Innovation Creates the Future." Teams were required to combine their professional characteristics with the actual needs and practical requirements of front - line production, management, and service positions. They had to independently determine the name of their competition project, design the content of the project, and select the equipment for the competition. This fully reflected the comprehensive educational goals and tasks.

The changes in the competition format posed significant challenges to the participating teams. With strong support from the school's leadership and relevant departments, the School of Biomedical and Pharmaceutical Sciences carefully interpreted the spirit of the Ministry of Education's competition documents. They conducted on - site industry research and focused on the job groups, typical tasks, and technical skill requirements corresponding to the TCM pharmacy major. Emphasizing the integration of industry and education, practical innovation, and the inheritance of traditional TCM skills, the participating teachers and students continuously strengthened their skills and refined their projects. They worked hard for 30 days and ultimately achieved excellent results in the competition.
