In order to enable the Chinese and foreign teachers and students of the college to experience the inheritance of traditional Chinese culture and the customs of the Dragon Boat Festival, on the afternoon of June 1st, the "Dragon Boat Festival Sentiments" Chinese Traditional Culture Experience Activity for Chinese and foreign teachers and students of Leshan Vocational College was held in the college's first canteen. The event was organized by the college's trade union and hosted by the administrative trade union.
At the beginning of the event, President Liu Zhong of the college, Vice President Chen Yuanjin, representatives of teachers and students from various faculties, and international students jointly experienced the traditional Chinese cultural activities of making zongzi (rice dumplings) and embroidering sachets. Vice Chairman of the College Trade Union, Huang Xiaoli, introduced the origin and customs of the Dragon Boat Festival to the international students present. Through this activity, international students were able to bring excellent traditional Chinese culture to every corner of the world. These small zongzi allowed the teachers, students, and international students of the college to gain a deeper understanding of excellent traditional Chinese culture. Under the guidance of experienced teachers, pairs of skillful hands gathered together, with everyone paying special attention to every detail. Admiring their own creations and sharing their experiences with each other, laughter and joy filled the entire venue.
"On the fifth day of the fifth month (lunar calendar), we celebrate the Dragon Boat Festival." The Dragon Boat Festival is one of the traditional festivals of the Chinese nation. Also known as the Duanwu Festival, Dragon Boat Festival, Double Fifth Festival, and Mid-Sky Festival, among others, customs such as dragon boat racing, eating zongzi, hanging mugwort, and wearing sachets have become hallmarks of the festival.
