From April 4th to 6th, the 2025 Sichuan Province Freestyle Kickboxing Championship was held at the Chuanshan District Sports Center in Suining City. This competition was guided by the Sichuan Provincial Wushu Sports Management Center and hosted by the Sichuan Provincial Wushu Association and the Sichuan Provincial Kickboxing Association. It attracted 860 athletes from 42 units across the province. Fourteen students from Leshan Vocational and Technical College participated in the competition and ultimately won two gold medals and seven silver medals, showcasing the outstanding spirit of the students from Leshan Vocational and Technical College.

The school's delegation was led by Zhu Wenbin, the head of the School of Physical Education, and coached by teachers Dai Lingjiang and Zhang Fan. Over the two-day intense competition, the students were fearless against strong opponents and fought bravely, competing against teams from Sichuan Police College, Chengdu University of Technology, and Chengdu Vocational University of Arts, among others. In the end, Han Xinli and Yan Zhiwei won the championships with their superb skills and tenacious fighting spirit, securing two gold medals for the school. Liu Jieping and Ru La Zeren stood out and were honored with the title of "Kickboxing Star," while Shi Huiyan and Wang Zijun were awarded as "Kickboxing Newcomers." These achievements fully demonstrated the strong power and talent cultivation results of Leshan Vocational and Technical College in the field of martial arts and kickboxing.

This championship was not only a test of the students' freestyle kickboxing skills but also a tempering of their team collaboration and fighting spirit. Through exchanges and sparring with students from other universities, the participants broadened their horizons, accumulated valuable competition experience, and significantly improved their competitive level. Additionally, the competition served as a selection event for the National College Students' Wushu Sanda Championship. The success in the competition is a significant achievement of the school's implementation of the "Five-Education Approach" educational policy. It shows that physical education not only strengthens the body but also serves as an important vehicle for moral education, cultivating talents with both healthy physiques and well-rounded personalities for the new era.
