From December 12 to 13, 2019, the "2019 China - Thailand Vocational Education Cooperation Development Forum," hosted by the Thai Ministry of Education's Vocational Education Commission, the Thailand Belt and Road Foundation, and the China Education Association for International Exchange, was held grandly in Shanghai. During the conference, the Thai Ministry of Education's Vocational Education Commission and the Thailand Belt and Road Foundation presented awards to individuals and organizations that have made outstanding contributions to China - Thailand cooperative education. Leshan Vocational and Technical College was honored with the "2019 China - Thailand Vocational Education Cooperation Contribution Award," and Ms. Patama, Deputy Secretary - General of the Thai Ministry of Education's Vocational Education Commission, presented the award to the college.
At the forum, Chen Zhihai shared the college's 10 - year experience of cooperation and exchange with Thailand with Chinese and foreign representatives. He stated that the college is willing to work with Thai institutions, under the official support of the Thai Ministry of Education, to jointly build Sino - Thai cooperative academic (major) clusters, conduct cooperative education programs, hold skills competitions, and establish academic conferences. Together, they aim to create a talent - cultivation system that emphasizes language skills, technical expertise, and practical application, continuously providing talents for China - Thailand economic cooperation and serving Thailand's national economic development and the Belt and Road Initiative.
The Thai Deputy Supreme Patriarch Somdet Phra Nyanasamvara Suvaddhana Maha Sthavira, leaders from the Thai Ministry of Education's Vocational Education Commission, and principals from 20 Thai vocational colleges came to Shanghai to engage in in - depth discussions and exchanges with leaders and experts from nearly 40 Chinese vocational colleges and universities.
