At 6:30 p.m. on September 7, 2018, Mr. Iem Puthviro, the Consul General of Cambodia in Kunming, and his delegation visited our college. In the 424 conference room, Deputy Party Secretary Chen Zhihai, Director Huang Xiaoli of the Party (College) Office and International Cooperation Office, Deputy Director He Dehong of the International Cooperation Office, and relevant staff members from the International Cooperation Office and the Publicity Department participated in the symposium.
During the meeting, Consul General Iem Puthviro first stated the purpose of his visit. Learning that there were no Cambodian students in Leshan at present, he expressed his intention to use the opportunity of the Travel Expo to promote educational and cultural exchanges between Leshan and Cambodia. Deputy Secretary Chen Zhihai extended a warm welcome to Consul General Iem Puthviro and his delegation on behalf of the college. He introduced the college's international cooperation and exchange, as well as the recruitment and training of international students, expressing the college's willingness to cooperate with Cambodian universities and recruit and train Cambodian students. He also agreed to provide a certain number of scholarships for outstanding Cambodian students, hoping that Consul General Iem Puthviro would help build a bridge for friendly cooperation between the college and Cambodia.
Consul General Iem Puthviro praised the college's sincerity and enthusiasm for establishing educational cooperation with Cambodia. He promised to report the results of the talks with the college to the Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Education as soon as possible, to recommend excellent Cambodian universities such as the Royal University of Phnom Penh to cooperate with the college, and to recruit outstanding Cambodian students to study at the college, in order to deepen Sino-Cambodian educational exchanges and cooperation.
At the end of the meeting, Deputy Secretary Chen Zhihai presented gifts to Consul General Iem Puthviro on behalf of the college.
