On the morning of April 29th, a delegation of five people from the School of Public Health at Swansea University in the United Kingdom, including Hoi Yan Cecilia Wu, Catherine Williams, and Tang Jun, Director of the Southwest Representative Office of Swansea University, visited our college. Vice President Liu Zhong of the college, Director of the Party (College) Office, Director of the International Cooperation Office, and Director of the Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan Affairs Office Huang Xiaoli, Minister of Propaganda Shi Jianhua, and other heads of relevant departments attended the symposium.
During the meeting, both sides introduced their respective colleges and engaged in in-depth discussions on topics such as professional development and training for nursing faculty, student exchange visits, the 3+1 (associate-to-bachelor’s) degree program, employment of nursing graduates in the UK, visa requirements, application conditions, and joint educational programs. They focused particularly on detailed communication regarding faculty development, cooperation models, exchange programs, short-term study courses, scholarships, clinical internships, and overseas employment opportunities.
Through this meeting, both parties deepened their understanding of each other and reached a certain consensus, laying the foundation for further cooperation in the future.
In the afternoon of the same day, Catherine Williams and her delegation of five people from the School of Public Health at Swansea University visited the Nursing Department to deliver a presentation and toured the nursing skills training laboratory.
Teacher Catherine Williams gave a lecture to the students on nursing courses and the learning and training of clinical skills. During the Q&A session, students asked questions about the university’s ranking, course content, duration of study, certification, costs, and other related issues, to which the representatives from Swansea University’s School of Public Health provided detailed answers.
After the lecture, Williams and her delegation toured the training laboratory, where they demonstrated intravenous infusion and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) techniques. They also observed the students’ operations and expressed their appreciation for the professional and standardized skills demonstrated by the students of our college.
