On June 5, 2019, a delegation of seven from the German nursing industry, including Mr. Sebastian Roth, head of a nursing home under the German AWO Welfare Federation, Mr. Marc Hoffmann, head of the nursing training department at the German BBS Wilhelmshaven Vocational School, and core faculty member Mr. Jonas Noehre, visited the college. They held discussions on educational cooperation, student employment in Germany, and other related matters. In attendance were Chen Zhihai, Deputy Party Secretary of the college, heads and relevant staff members from the International Cooperation Office, Nursing Department, and Haitian Company. The meeting was chaired by Huang Xiaoli, Director of the Party (College) Office and International Cooperation Office.
At the symposium, Deputy Secretary Chen Zhihai introduced the college's history, major offerings, nursing program development, and cooperation with Germany to the guests. Mr. Sebastian Roth provided an overview of the German AWO Welfare Federation, the current demand for nursing staff in Germany, entry qualifications, and benefits. He expressed a strong desire to collaborate with our college on nursing student education. The AWO Welfare Federation is one of the largest welfare federations in Lower Saxony, Germany, with over 100 welfare and medical institutions in multiple German cities.
During the meeting, participants also discussed projects such as faculty training in Germany, short - term faculty and student exchanges, German language training, and graduate employment in Germany.
