On December 10, 2024, the first-ever "Belt and Road" E-commerce Skills Invitational Competition for International Students in Vocational Colleges in Sichuan Province, hosted by the Sichuan Provincial Department of Education, concluded at Sichuan Aerospace Vocational and Technical College. The competition attracted 16 teams from 12 vocational colleges across the province, with over 50 international students participating. The event was co-organized by the Sichuan Provincial Department of Education and the Sichuan Provincial Department of Commerce, with support from the Sichuan Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security and the Sichuan Provincial Department of Science and Technology.
The competition was designed to enhance the e-commerce skills of international students in Sichuan, promote cross-cultural understanding, and foster economic cooperation along the "Belt and Road" initiative. It featured a variety of e-commerce-related tasks, including online marketing, customer service, and digital content creation.
The team from Leshan Vocational and Technical College, comprising three international students—Fan Na (Laos), Wang Weixin (Laos), and Lu Mingwei (Indonesia)—from the School of Digital Economy Management, emerged as the first-prize winners. Their outstanding performance demonstrated their proficiency in e-commerce skills and their ability to work effectively as a team. In addition to the first prize, the college also received an award for outstanding organization.
The competition provided a valuable platform for international students to showcase their skills, exchange ideas, and learn from each other. It also highlighted the importance of e-commerce in today's global economy and the potential for international cooperation in this field.
The competition was organized by the Vocational Education Society of China, with the goal of strengthening communication and cooperation among vocational colleges along the “Belt and Road,” enhancing the e-commerce vocational skills of international students, and promoting the international development of the e-commerce industry. Representatives from 11 vocational colleges in the province, comprising international students from seven countries, gathered to showcase their professional skills and teamwork abilities.
Under the guidance of teachers Wang Qi and Wu Huiling, the team of international students from Leshan Vocational and Technical College fully demonstrated their solid professional skills and excellent team spirit. In the competition, they successfully solved a series of practical problems in e-commerce operations with their keen market insight, precise data analysis, and outstanding marketing strategies. After fierce competition, they stood out and won unanimous praise from the judges and the audience.
The competition has given international students a profound experience of the charm and challenges of the e-commerce industry, clarifying their career plans and development directions. It has also provided a new platform and opportunity for communication and cooperation between our school and other vocational colleges. The school will continue to adhere to the concept of openness, cooperation, and mutual benefit, strengthen exchanges and cooperation with domestic and international vocational colleges, and jointly promote the international development of vocational education.
